I suspect PD are now using GT5's updates as "fine tuning" for GT6, in terms of PP rating formulae and AI behaviour.

I mean, it's a bit late in the day to be refining GT5 with updates for any other reason?
One thing that's always bugged me about the AIs is that they give up as soon as you pass them. Wouldn't it be hella exciting if they didn't? Also, maybe it's me, but the Italian cars don't seem to give up as much as others. Could be wrong but you pass a Miura and that SOB is right on your tail. Kind of like you in NASCAR!

I think the "AI giving up when you pass them" is only a relatively recent phenomenon, sometime around the mid 2.0 updates, eg- 2.06, I forget the exact update it was, but up til then the AI didn't ease off as much as they do now once you get alongside them.   :(
