New seasonals up
« on: Aug 02, 2012, 05:49 pm »

...and you better not have the kids near you if you try the first one.  5 laps, leader is 30 seconds out, and has equivalent PP to you.  I was turning 1.07 laps and STILL getting smoked at max pp.  Allegedly, the Mitsubishi Starion is the car to use, but I got too frustrated trying to beat it to switch to that now, so I put down the controller before it ended up going through the TV screen.  But all you guys with wheels with your automatic 5 second advantage should have no problems  ;D

Car to use is a Mitsustiggy Skyline GTS-t Type M (R32) '89
Use a Sports intake manifold, stage 2 turbo, NO OIL CHANGE, full tranny, full drivetrain, full suspension. Don't tune engine up with gear ratio tweeks. Car should come to 419PP and 226BHP.... With a good few laps you should get ahead of him on last lap easily :)

I've put mine on share if you haven't got on bud

I did it with the Starion, but you have to turn 1:08 laps or better, AND have to keep restarting the race until the Honda City Turbo 83 starts in the lead.  He holds up the GTS-T long enough so that you can catch him on lap 5.

Two options that definitely work

 1)  Honda MUGEN MOTUL CIVIC Si Race Car '87
MUGEN MOTUL CIVIC Si Race Car '87 by Honda from Gran Turismo 5 Car Database

 2) 1989 Isuzu 4200R Concept '89
4200R Concept '89 by Isuzu from Gran Turismo 5 Car Database

Both are Prize Cars in the game, so you should already have them, no need to buy.

Keep the gearing short, around 110mph approx.

Edit: Found a tune for the 4200R

The 4200R tune works, but put traction control at 3.  Otherwise it puts on a smoke show!  I won by 3.6 seconds, actually turned a 105.8 lap time with that tune.  Also, the 4200R is a premium car, available at the dealership.

With the exception of the F1 races, probably the toughest seasonal yet.  :o

3 of the races were a doddle, but found London and Scooby a real ball ache! I like a challenge, but that was tough!!! :-s

Thanks, Stiggy! I borrowed your car, and won by 13.3 seconds. 8)

P.S. I returned her in one piece, as I'm sure you would always do the same. ;)
