The "Permanent Borrow" Trick, explained.
« on: Nov 25, 2012, 04:45 am »

You need access to TWO PS3 consoles to do this using this method.

Your main PS3 GT5 can be fully up-to-date with 2.09 if you wish, but the second PS3 GT5 must be at v1.05

To make the second PS3 GT5 in v1.05 condition, you install the game from scratch (just delete it totally if already on there) and the system asks to come in at v2.09. You agree, and the system will start to download the first patch (608 MB). After it downloads and installs this patch, it will start to download the second. You then cancel and exit. You must switch to Offline Mode (ie- set console so it doesn't log into PSN) and the PS3 is ready for glitch.

Follow these steps:

 1. On your main PS3 GT5, you borrow a car from a friend's Online cars.

 2. You exit the game and save the gamesave file to USB.

 3. Copy the USB gamesave to your accounton the second offline PS3 GT5 which is at v1.05.
(You must have installed already the same account as in main PS3)

 4. Start the game and stay in the main screen before the GT Mode screen. Save the game with red button and exit.

 5. Overwrite the gamesave to USB.

 6. Copy the USB's gamesave to your main PS3.

 7. Start the GT5 game, DLC cars should be added automatically to your garage and the borrowed car is yours now. You are already IN the borrowed car. That    means when you change to another car the borrowed car will have 1 "switch" added to its total.

For another car, just start over again!   8)

Note: You cannot acquire any DLC cars this way, only the cars that are already in the game.

The information in this topic is still valid, however there is now a much quicker and easier way to keep a borrowed car by using a freely available piece of software, it works 100% and takes seconds to do the job.

Not sure, but if anyone is paranoid about PD/Sony, just save all the hybrids on a different account...   ;)
