Ways to get faster lap times
« on: Nov 24, 2010, 09:34 pm »

Just turn on "driving line" under options and follow the blue and red lines in races, and anything else! Happy Thanksgiving! :D (for those who don't know, blue is acceleration or keeping the power on, red is braking.)

On some turns you might want to brake earlier. But most of the time just follow the line. TY Saleen

I've noticed that at some tracks you better look out for the black tire marks rather the blue line, it depends how fast your car is., so faster so more look out for the black tire marks.

There are no real cheats for faster lap times (except for cutting chicaines here and there)

Your approach to faster lap times depends on your skill level. You would either increase the driving aides settings (for a novice), or decrease the use of driving aides as you better learn to control certain cars handling characteristics. There are ppl out there who think driving with any help is cheating in itself (my brother for one) however I find it hard to believe the these car don't have some level of traction control or ABS in the real world.

One thing I have found is that if you are having trouble keeping it straight under heavy braking put the ABS to max (sensable & not cheating) and a lot of the time (not all) it's better to have the traction control either on 1 or off.

Practice the track if you haven't driven it before.

Above all buy a wheel (what ever skill level you are) as soon as you can possibly afford to do so, once you get used to it, it'll takes seconds off your lap times.

Anything better than just mono-sylibic replies to increase a post count? Nope? Don't think you'll be here long then.
